Hi,

About a week ago, I wrote with a problem regarding an Intel R440LX based
system with two 9GB SCSI harddisks. I've recompiled the Linux kernel using
different version of the driver but always end up with the ff. kernel
boot messages:

scsi: aborting due to timeout: pid 9 scsi 0 channel 0, id 6, lun 0 0x12 00 00 00 00 ff 00
SCSI host 0 abort (pid 9) timed out - resetting
SCSI bus is being reset for host 0 channel 0.
SCSI host 0 channel 0 reset (pid 9) timed out - trying harder
SCSI bus is being reset for host 0 channel 0.
(The previous four lines are repeated over and over again)

NOTE: I use the newly compiled kernels with the RedHat 5.1 bootdisks which
use initrd to load its initial root fs.

Thinking that Doug needed more information, I've painstakingly copied the
output of the linux kernel with "aic7xxx=verbose:0x1ffff,panic_on_abort"
appended:

Please help as this is a pretty expensive piece of equipment that I don't
want to be reallocated for Windows98 use.
