Aborting Command

Hello,

I have a 2 processor PPro 300 (HP Kayak XU) which has been locking up
during backup every other night. For a while, I thought it might be the
SMP. So I removed the SMP flag, rebuild and reinstalled the kernel. It
crashed again last night.

This is the error I get (retyped):

scsi: aborting command due to timeout
	pid 813970
	scsi 0 channel 0 id 0 lun 0
	write (10) 00 00 43 df ...
	read (10) 00 00 43 df 00 00 04 00

I have tested the disk using the controller VERIFY pass and no bad block
was reported.

Thanks a lot for any information/hints. Also, since I am crashing every
other night, I can try different things and wait 48 hours (works like a
clock).
