I had to do some heavy shuffling of PCI cards in my machine in order to
get my aic7xxx (it's a 2940 ultra card) to work correctly. Mine only seems
to work when it's in the first PCI slot (the one furthest away from the
ISA slots), and only if it's assigned IRQ 9 or 11 by the bios. 

I have a Triton VX motherboard with a single p133 cpu and I'm not running
SMP.
