Well, I still haven't sent this patch out, not because it doesn't work (it 
does, and works rather nicely at that since it reduces latency a good deal 
as far as I can tell for the normal code path, but I would need to test on 
another machine to be certain).  I haven't sent it out because in the course 
of debuggin why it wasn't working, I got started on the aic7xxx_abort() 
function processing and so I am currently working on that to go along with 
this patch (I had to get at least part way through the problems in there to 
use the abort function as a debugger for what was going wrong, which I did, 
and now that I have the abort function telling me what is wrong when the 
function is called, I just have to get it to do the right thing in order to 
have a working abort function, which is something the linux driver hasn't 
had in the past).  So, once I feel that I'm on my way with that, I'll send 
out a patch that people can test and Dan can look at to see what he wants to 
do with.
