I think the easiest way to prevent FreeBSD dom0 from "tasting" the domu zfs partitions is to set volmode=none in the zfs properties list for the volumes you expect to be formatted by domu's asas zfs partitions. This doesn't prevent Xen from exporting the volume, but does tell the dom0 to keep its nose out of the domu disks. I'll answer your other questions in a separate e-mail. -thanks -Brian
