Going to install an certain version by hand is more an advanced way and let the use choose which gpu-firmware a user wants to install. However, it became more common that people dont have gpu-firmware installed in that case and do run into a freeze in the "loading modules" phase for example. I would recommend to leave a hint about that at least as a pkg install-message that those ports do not pull gpu-firmware. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
