My initial gut reaction was th= at it was odd that it should be required in this widely distributed package fr= om outside FreeBSD world, and probably would never be adopted upstream. But on further reflection I find myself asking why the driver cares about whether a kernel driver is attached, especially since in the FreeBSD world it seems unavoidable that the vgapci kernel driver will be attached. Plus, among the only five ports I use that depend on libpciaccess, only xf86-video-vesa cal= ls pci_device_has_kernel_driver.
