And what makes you think this would improve anything?  E.g. I've recently
updated my fresh -CURRENT and thus had to rebuild DRM ports.  The one I'm
supposed to use, based on Linux 5.4, had broken laptop resume from S3 for me
(once again).  Then I've tried to build `graphics/drm-fbsd12.0-kmod' like I did
before, but now the codebases had diverged far enough so it would require
non-trivial patching to get Linux 4.16 DRM bits on recent -CURRENT.  So
updating made things *worse* for me (breaking resume), not better.

FWIW, I've had to agree on what Scott had said in comment #28, bugs filed about
graphics stuff typically sit there with no research or resolution only to be
closed later as "overcome by events" (wtf?), that's why I stopped filing
X11-related PRs.
