I have started to push (minor) changes into main and I hope to continue on-off so in the next days to clear most of the changes I can push w/o possibly breaking things first ("The [valuable] Noise"). I also have some non-80211 LinuxKPI changes needed by drivers in review which have hit a "timeout" now as I didn't get any further comments [1]. There's one or two more to come. I'll then start to push in some further changes to LinuxKPI 802.11 which at this point I cannot pin-point which one may have an issue (or if further experimental local changes are at fault). I'll try to push those in with a heads up or post a good-old patch for testing first. I know some of you are waiting on these changes so you can work on Realtek rtw88 and rtw89, mt76, or the Atheros bits (I know laptops are shipping with ath11k). I also would need the help of a ports committer soon to create some firmware packages. If anyone is willing to work with me on that, please drop me a note. Lastly I am still aware of the interface down/up issue. I have a test case ("dry-run") which pushes the entire state machine up and down in a loop (just without packets -- and with that with some values not being there) by now which I kept doing over the Holidays and I can let that run for hours without crashing so (a) we'll need something even more clever to find this, and (b) I tried to reach out and see if I can get help otherwise but given the Holidays we'll probably have to wait until mid-January for any hope. Until later and given it's 4AM here now and some of you are close to 2023 already -- happy and joyful and healthy and successful New Calendar Year to all of you and please also deploy IPv6, not just WiFi ;-) [1] D37088, D37523, D37599, D37593, D37522 (in random order) -- Bjoern A.
