So far I made no plan to MFC to -14, however I believe the changes should apply
cleanly and work without much effort.
Should we investigate this?

I expect to have access to my own hardware again within two weeks; it would be
great to be able to use your setup in the meantime in case anyone finds an
issue, but I do not want to be in the way of your own plans!
