Interesting. And yet it works on other machines.

Webcamd output:

janm@fitlet2-test: ~ $ sudo webcamd -d ugen0.2
alloc_chrdev_region: Unknown region name: 'lirc'
webcamd 13224 - - Attached to ugen0.2[0]
webcamd 13224 - - webcamd: Cannot find USB device

Also tried with various other options, eg "-N CH-Products-VM-Desktop -M 0" but
same result.

I'm curious: Why could webcamd make a difference if the uhid devices keep going
away?
