The difference in the offset.inc file was caused by awk changes in behavior
that I've reverted.

The clang bug is still there, but we won't trigger it anymore. You'll need a
new awk as described in UPDATING for cross build kernels to work.

I'm not sure if dim@ wants to keep this open or not for the clang assert...
