Periodic lag spike on FreeBSD 13.2-RELEASE (intel graphics / wayland)
Date: Mon, 29 May 2023 15:23:24 UTC
Hello all, I'm not sure if anyone is experiencing this, but on my framework laptop running this graphic card: vgapci0@pci0:0:2:0: class=0x030000 rev=0x01 hdr=0x00 vendor=0x8086 device=0x9a49 subvendor=0xf111 subdevice=0x0001 vendor = 'Intel Corporation' device = 'TigerLake-LP GT2 [Iris Xe Graphics]' class = display subclass = VGA I get periodic lag spikes. The lag spikes last about 2-3 seconds, almost as if there is some sort of garbage collection running. Wayland/sway continue to function properly, it's just annoying. I do notice these messages in my dmesg and I think they may be related: drmn0: [drm] *ERROR* Atomic update failure on pipe D (start=20288 end=20289) time 0 us, min 1073, max 1079, scanline start 1050, end 1081 I'm running drm-510-kmod as listed below: jon@leslie:~ $ pkg info drm-510-kmod drm-510-kmod-5.10.163_7 Name : drm-510-kmod Version : 5.10.163_7 Installed on : Tue May 16 16:37:56 2023 EDT Origin : graphics/drm-510-kmod Architecture : FreeBSD:13:amd64 Prefix : /usr/local Categories : kld graphics Licenses : MIT and GPLv2 and BSD2CLAUSE Maintainer : x11@FreeBSD.org WWW : https://github.com/freebsd/drm-kmod/ Comment : DRM drivers modules Annotations : FreeBSD_version: 1301000 repo_type : binary repository : FreeBSD Flat size : 12.6MiB Description : amdgpu, i915, and radeon DRM drivers modules. Please let me know if there is anything else I can provide to narrow down the root cause. Thank you!
