You can have ideological purity or working software, pick one.  I don't get why
you are so hung up on that.  The only one who suffers are RISC-V users.  Same
with all the issues that prevent the RISC-V build from being self hosting, for
which trivial patches exist that have nevertheless not been committed because
they aren't elegant and a better solution should be found.  Why not just put
the fixes in and replace them with elegant fixes once those have been
developed?  I really don't get it.
