Making some comments on this from the point of view as professional freelancer (I am not qualified directly for the job posting unless you count the fact I have made a cloud platform based on bhyve [but not jails]): Besides I have sensory issues with Zoom (one of the worst implementations of streaming media in history). It's just a few hours and we cannot give you access to the servers. Basically it would be a Zoom-based consultancy by the hour where you help us solve some specific issues related to the technologies mentioned above. > > Conditions: > > Mutual NDA and simple contract. In any freelance marketplace like UpWork (formerly eLance) this would be a red flag (having to sign a NDA before even being told in the most general sense who the client is and what their goals are... surely this would not violate anything that is legitimately NDA'able) > Actual experience and skills in: > > Bridging > VNET Jails > bhyve networking > PF > Optionally: CARP > > Spoken English Fluency > > We can pay via Wise, PayPal or bank Wire. If within the first hour we determine you do not possess the skills, the contract will be unilaterally terminated with no payment. Any work done conditionally is a complete and total red flag and against the TOS of most job listing sites. In case you're curious here are the other red flags any professional freelancer would look for: 1. Any promise of future work in return for a break on this job 2. Any attempt to make you a co-founder instead of what really are (a freelancer) 3. Wants to pay or contact you off elance before the terms are agreed on (against official elance policy) 4. Ask for any sort of free work before escrow is put up 5. Refuse to agree to our terms sheet (with any modifications needed to address the unique intellectual property requirements of each project) 6. Complete inability to give a clear statement of what they want you to do 7. Any client who refuses to honor our no change in project scope term 8. Demand for source code before escrow release 9. Anyone who says that wants anyone from a certain geographic region (usually ones well known for low pay) unless they are in that area and require in person meetings 10. Demands a NDA before even telling the 25 words or less description of the project in general terms 11. Asks to do payment outside of elance 12. Anyone who does not want to use the private message board exclusively (the only thing elance dispute resolution looks at [btw they find for the client far too often IMO]) 13. Someone who has not even bothered to have elance verify their credit card as being a valid form of payment to fund escrow with 14. Anyone who asks you to use some bizarre key phrase in your bid as a type of captcha -- Aryeh M. Friedman, Lead Developer, http://www.PetiteCloud.org
