FreeBSD install claimed base.tgz failed it's checksum.  This was an often used PNY 32GB Turbo Attaché 3 USB 3.0 Flash Drive (dvd1.iso)  I rebuilt it from a disc1.iso, with same checksum error. I then tried the bootonly.iso, and was able to install and boot into freebsd. I am using amd64 ISOs. I have a post-install script that I run, and the system panic'ed when it discovered a PixArt mouse (Raspberry Pi mouse and keyboard). I would bet there is some flaw in Celeron processors that prevent checksums from working. I hope the Core team can find some example mini-PCs with the N100 Celeron and sort out the issues.
