While I managed to get bsdinstall starting up as you described I ran into the next issue wrt IP-addressing/DNS so I finally decided to go the easier way by installing from disc1 leaving the "proxy-game" completely aside as for the setup. My next step will be trying to update from the source, i.e. getting git to work via the proxy... Best regards, -ewald
