Certainly, but you will have to do it in stages to follow the beaten (read tested) path. 8.4-9.0, 9.0-10.0, 10.0-11.0 ... You might even have to take smaller steps. It occurs to me to wonder whether the freebsd-update servers still carry all the steps, that would be much faster. Just go 8.4-stable->9.0-release and use freebsd-update from there. It would undoubtedly be quicker and easier to backup everything that's yours, install 14.0, restore your stuff. -- Steve O'Hara-Smith <steve@sohara.org>
