Trying to run wayland on 14.1

Following chapter 6 in the handbook and addressing the resulting errors I 
installed the following packages.

pkg install wayland seatd
pkg install consolekit2 basu
pkg install xfce
pkg install pavucontrol waybar
pkg install wayfire wf-shell alacritty swaylock-effects swayidle wlogout kanshi mako wlsunset
pkg install wayfire wf-shell alacritty swaylock-effects swayidle wlogout kanshi mako wl
pkg install sway

Then started wayland with:
    wayfire -c ~/.config/wayfire/wayfire.ini

I can find nothing on addressing this error: Waiting for a DRM card device

I did find something on the correct options needed to build wayland but 
would prefer not to have to do that

My goal is to run xfce4 on this system. Xorg will not work as I can not get 
by can write to screen zero.

My only goal is to run xfce. I can try any thing that someone has found 
that works.
