You did not say if each disk was bootable or you had multiple partitions on 
one or more of the disks. If you want a GUI check out Grub. On some systems 
I had Grub was too much trouble. Most if not all BIOS have an option to 
select a bootable disk or partition. On Dell it is F!2.
