All, Hopefully quick question. I'm looking to set up a WebCAM on a Rasperry Pi for a cheap security hack. I checked this out on a VM on two of my [x86] laptops, and the camera worked fine (its a rebranded Logitech). However, on the PIs (both a 3 and a 4), using a REMOTE X server for display, pwcview is returning a green screen instead of the image. Google searchs raised a few threads from a couple years back with people having a similar issue (some got corrupted imaged periodically), but there never seemed to be a resolution either way (e.g. got it working, or just gave up after awhile), although a few people pointed to "performance" as an issue. In my case, the Pi was running about 2% utilization. The remote X connection was set up with ssh -Y ..... Before I go pouring hours into trying things and debugging, given that it "just worked" on x86, I just wanted to put a feeler out there to see if anyone feels this isn't worth chasing. -Brian
