Bottom, always, since dawn of email, for many reasons.

Reasons and examples of which that volunteers are still
welcomed to create the missing Handbook section on.

If this app actually disallows even manual editing of the text
being replied to in order to put it into proper bottom form, then...

1) Tell the maker of it to fix that, or to become opensource, or
you will leave and take your money usage and eyeballs with it.
2) Follow through and leave for opensource apps and platforms
that you can buy use donate contribute and support.

There are now at least two "Linux phones" on the market,
and numerous phablets, such that neomutt can run on them.
And since they are often ARM64 based, and run Linux,
there is no reason that BSD cannot be made to run on them.

Volunteers are free to create and run that campaign :)
