The open source world has produced so much for so many for little to not 
reward for their time and effort, that it has created an expectation 
that everyone's problem has, more than likely, been already fixed by 
someone else. And that if that problem has no fix, well then, "someone 
has to fix it".

I think it's important to remind folk that the open source world is not 
some conglomerate, with tons of buildings hosting thousands of 
developers being paid by the second. No. It's men and women in everyday 
clothing and slippers, sitting in their studies, living rooms, bedrooms 
and neighborhood cafes, at 3AM coding the ideas that struck them earlier 
in the shower.
