Spinning drive: I join recommendation of Ultrastar. It is not HGST these days, the line and design group were bought not long ago by WD, and WD wisely keeps things as great as they were. My recollection of Ultrastar (companies who desgned/produced them) over time: IBM, Hitachi, HGST, WD. Seagates recommended here as well have much poorer reliability record in my book. That is over last 20 years, about 2000 drives spinning simultaneously in "my stables". But things may have changed during last couple of years, we will know new statistics about that in some 5-7 years I would say. Valeri Valeri
