If Sears still sold tools (they sold off their OEM Craftsman brand).
And if there were any Sears still around. (I think there may be one a few states over). 
But back in the day, I did get a replacement screwdriver from that. But thats about it.

But yes, lifetime warranty in the computer world does mean as long as they still make it.
Which for some items can be 12-18 months. I would not be swayed by having a
warranty on it other than the 90 days or so you usually can send things back in.
And extended warrantys are virtually useless as well. Maybe that once in a lifetime
jackpot, but otherwise, stores that offer it just rack in the $$ from those.
