On those data, 12.4 amd64 dvd1 at 4,492,255,232 bytes is 98.6% of DVD-R capacity, phew.

So if gnome had been included on 13.1 and (later) 12.4, neither would have fitted on a single-sided DVD.

Maybe we need separate KDE and gnome DVDs?  Does anyone care?

OTOH, where can you buy an USB stick smaller than 8GB these days?
