Why do we have to wait for the next release for bug fixes?

So I have noticed that a bunch of fixes that goes into current or stable is not backported to release so that FreeBSD can be updated with the freebsd-update tool, rather one has to wait until the next 13.x release in order to get the fixes, or manually patch and compile the kernel. I don't understand this part at all! Why are all bug fixes not errata'd so that users can update their systems with freebsd-update without having to manually patch the kernel or wait until next release of RELEASE, which can be quite a long wait. -- Sent with Tutanota, the secure & ad-free mailbox.
