This isn't really a FreeBSD-specific problem or even a technical problem as
much as a manpower and political problem. Specifically, between FreeBSD
committers, CPython's core team and developers, and anyone/entities in between.

As listed, there is exactly one CPython core developer who is tasked with
FreeBSD-specific issues, but supporting other platforms and concerns are higher
priority. Getting to their Tier 2 most importantly involves someone within our
community working their way into becoming a CPython core developer, which is a
hell of a lot to ask for without external support (especially financial). Note
that much of the "core" (because it's not just CPython at this point) Python
maintainers community have at least some sort of external backing, like their
$work relies on their maintenance efforts.
