The official site specifically mentions that:

"There are no plans to support new Oracle Berkeley DB releases or to improve
support of currently supported Oracle Berkeley DB releases. I could publish new
releases of this library if a serious bug were found, but bsddb3 library is
considered legacy."

So this one should go with db5. I want to mark this DEPRECATED with expiration
on 22-06-30.
