Unfortunately, trying some releases from after POWER8's release (10.1, 10.4, and 11.4) also won't boot with basically identical stack traces. At this point, I would almost suspect hardware, but I have two other similar systems that won't boot either for identical reasons. The platforms page has a very similar system (S812L) that does seem to be running OK. I wonder what's up with this.
