The maintainer of this distribution has indicated that it is deprecated and no longer suitable for use. Deprecate in favor of IO::Socket::IP >> This announcement comes with IO::Socket::INET6 version 2.73. At the moment port net/p5-IO-Socket-INET6 has version 2.72. And 25 ports depend from it. One of them (security/p5-IO-Socket-SSL) is maintained by me. Luckily its upstream code is already prepared for switch from IO::Socket::INET6 to IO::Socket::IP Thus it was easy to prepare the PR about interchange of dependency: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=272296 Do you think that: 1) port net/p5-IO-Socket-INET6 should be marked as DEPRECATED, 2) 24 maintainers should be alerted about the issue, or 3) some blanket activity for 24 ports is necessary. Please note, that today's default perl-5.32.1_3 has core module IO::Socket::IP, which is 2 bugfix versions behind the port net/p5-IO-Socket-IP: https://metacpan.org/dist/IO-Socket-IP/changes Regards, Sergei
