Requesting to Maintain Port: simpleirc

Hello Ports Team. I would like to assist with maintenance on a port that has no maintainer.

The package I'm looking at possibly maintaining is simpleirc (https://www.freshports.org/irc/simpleirc/).

To disclose, I have not previously maintained any package and this would be the first package I would ever maintain if accepted. I have however been reading through the Porters Handbook to learn more about the process.

The reason I'm looking at this specific package is mainly due to the simplicity of the code which in turn would (I believe) lend itself to being an attainable package to manage.
