So: I used "portmaster -o x11/nvidia-driver x11/nvidia-driver-390" to replace the older driver with the current one. This was while running: FreeBSD g1-55.catwhisker.org 12.2-STABLE FreeBSD 12.2-STABLE #1138 stable/12-n233908-5c1c9f08d74: Fri Sep 24 03:32:01 PDT 2021 root@g1-55.catwhisker.org:/common/S1/obj/usr/src/amd64.amd64/sys/CANARY amd64 1202508 1202508 with a ports tree at main-n559560-5bec538caeed (and all ports up-to-date). I have not yet looked at that -- and, of course, I needed to re-replace x11/nvidia-driver with x11/nvidia-driver-390 in order to have a functioning laptop to be able to do any of that. I will copy dumps &c. to https://www.catwhisker.org/~david/FreeBSD/stable_12/n233908-5c1c9f08d74/ Peace, david -- David H. Wolfskill david@catwhisker.org Life is not intended to be a zero-sum game.
