https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=284808 Bug ID: 284808 Summary: net-p2p/bitcoin-daemon : group-readable .cookie file Product: Ports & Packages Version: Latest Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: Individual Port(s) Assignee: kbowling@freebsd.org Reporter: benoit@guillemaud.fr Flags: maintainer-feedback?(kbowling@freebsd.org) Assignee: kbowling@freebsd.org Created attachment 257514 --> https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=257514&action=edit Edited rc script Hello, For interaction with other services (mainly electrs), I need the .cookie file to be group-readable (electrs runs as its own user, not the bitcoin user). I could not find any configuration parameter in bitcoind to do this, so I edited the rc script to make it group-readable. I am not good at bash scripting ! You'll find attached my modified script though. This needs several "adjustments": * using an rcvar to control wether this is done or not * making the .cookie path dynamic * exiting the loop at some point if the .cookie file is not found I can work on this a bit more if you think this can be useful to more people than just myself :-) Best regards -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
