Looks like the method was changed by this commit in August:

So, it, probably, is permanent...

We can try updating the port to 3.6 instead of 4.0 -- and wait for the
depending ports to catch up to the API change... (Or, maybe, x265 maintainers
will come to their senses and, at least, introduce a compatibility shim, but
that's unlikely.)
