Generally a git-format patch is nicer to work with for committers as it saves
us the trouble of crafting the commit message from scratch and manually
recording the author information.

A preliminary question: Is there a particular reason why GH_ACCOUNT is not
BrowserWorks? Appears to be just a redirect.

I'm currently checking what the process looks like if a port for the same
upstream already existed previously but was abandoned.
