https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=277423 Bug ID: 277423 Summary: [new port] dns/dnsbalancer Product: Ports & Packages Version: Latest Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Keywords: patch Severity: Affects Some People Priority: --- Component: Individual Port(s) Assignee: ports-bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: portmaster@bsdforge.com Created attachment 248858 --> https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=248858&action=edit patch: add new port dns/balancer The patch attached to this pr(1) adds a new port: dns/balancer. It replaces a port that went unmaintained upstream. I have adopted the code and posted my work on Codeberg, and will continue to maintain it both there and here as a port. Short description: Differential DNS server / Dynamic load-balancing DNS server Long description: DNS Balancer is a Differential DNS server / load-balancing DNS server that: o Performs dynamic load balancing o Makes the best answer based on resolution the client's IP address o Implements "A" record lookups only -- which is best for security This (FreeBSD) version differs from original in the following ways: o It works as a daemon o Has ability to write messages to a logfile o Can save it's PID P.S. I haven't added a new port since it was done with shar(1). I used the instructions within the porters handbook. Which ultimately failed with Fatal at: git format-patch origin/main So I am presenting a git diff (patch). Thanks! :) --Chris -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
