The current dev snapshot used by our port seems to have some serious bugs, such
as malfunctions when creating dimensions.

Currently, I'm running the previous release using my work-in-progress ports:

I'm also trying to get a newer dev snapshot working:

It's having problems linking with googletest, even though cmake reports that it
was found:

-- Found Google Test: version 1.14.0

My first question is whether we should try to get googletest linkage working,
or disable it, which might require patching the code.  It does not appear to be
optional in the cmake scripts.
