I ran into this issue in the past couple of days on an aarch64 install of
14-STABLE running in a Mac M2 VM. 

Bear continues spawning new processes, it eventually fails and core dumps, but
that takes a significant amount of time. In searching for possible causes I
found the below link. There are good details in the post as to the reasons and
when it occurred, please refer to the issue on GitHub for details.
