https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=262900 Bug ID: 262900 Summary: lang/perl5.* should be buildable on 11.4 to upgrade it Product: Ports & Packages Version: Latest Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Some People Priority: --- Component: Individual Port(s) Assignee: rene@FreeBSD.org Reporter: eugen@freebsd.org CC: ports-bugs@FreeBSD.org Hi! Recent commits to lang/perl5.* ports made it impossible to build perl5 using FreeBSD 11.4 and this complicates source upgrade path greatly: modern network connectivity often requires support for modern TLS versions provided by the port security/openssl. It is impossible to build/upgrade openssl-1.1.1n without upgrading Perl beforehand. We ought make upgrade path as easy as possible. Please consider to restore FreeBSD 11 support for lang/perl5.* ports backing out corresponding changes. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
