Is the installed version from the freebsd pkg repo?
This Version seems to have Websockets disabled per Default.
     WS=off: MQTT over Websockets support

If thats the Case you should compile the port with non default options to
enable this. If this Option is suitable for most users the maintainer may set
this as default option.
