update to 1.8.1

Hello,

I just tagged 1.8.1.  The changelog is available here:

The security issue fixed is linux-only and doesn't affect FreeBSD (or any other
system really) in the slightest.  There were however some improvements and
typos fixed that are a good excuse to update the package anyway.
