portsmf seems to be a part of PortMedia, but it just backports the changes made
in Audacity.
Therefore, and because the bundled version of Audacity is the most recent and
has undergone further changes, you should use the bundled source by
-Daudacity_use_portsmf:STRING=local.

By the way, I can't reproduce the problem that seems to be caused by the system
and local being swapped.
Did you change anything else besides removing the curl?
