An update for this is long overdue. It's time I
drag this into the 21st century -- or at least
a little closer. ;-)
Convert a bunch of incompatible ints, update
string terminators, eliminate all warns, and a
bunch of stuff I can't remember right now. While
here; move the source to GitLab for some peer
review. Bump version accordingly.

all the details.

builds, works, tests AOK on 12 and 13 amd64.
