So, to break this down, do we agree that notable information (i.e. packages have changed) should follow an exit code of 1, as documented in periodic(8)? Most of the status scripts in /etc/periodic/daily behave this way. And it helps tremendously to only receive periodic mails on system changes = or when something is wrong.
