Unicode::UTF8

We are working with the sympa developers on a patch and they've added

use Unicode::UTF8;

so they can then call functions like Unicode::UTF8::valid_utf8(). 

But it seems this perl module is not yet in the ports tree?

Is there any chance of getting it added as a FreeBSD port/pkg? Or am I missing something? Any wisdom greatly appreciated!
