Hey folks, just a heads up that the temperature of this issue is coming across
higher than it probably should be.

Let's please focus on the substance of the issue "out there" with everyone on
the same side looking at it together to figure it out.

Alternatively, if there's *key* design decision(s) to be made with respect to
'resolving' the issue, or a ton of questions that need to be thrown back and
forth, either do so succinctly (as questions and answers) here, which is fine,
or hash it out as a broader discussion on the mailing lists until an outcome is
reached and then reference the list discussion and outcome here.
