--- Comment #7 from Peter TKATCHENKO <peter@flytrace.com> ---
I've just updated the OS to FreeBSD 14.1. Unfortunately, the problem is still
here.

I have some interesting observations though.

1. The problem is definitely related to HDMI. If an external monitor is not
connected - on 90% startups everything works correctly. Sometimes, the problem
occurs.

2. The problem is not only related to FreeBSD startup and sound card
initialization, but to FreeBSD shutdown procedures too. In ~50% of cases when
the problem is present the laptop emits some strange sounds immediately after
power on, even before BIOS initialization sequence (<0.5 sec after ON button
pressing). Sometimes this sound remains till the late stage of Windows
sequence, and probably stops with Windows sound driver initialization. If I
boot to FreeBSD - this sound remains forever.

So, it looks that some internal communications (probably, between audio codec
and internal amplifier) are not managed by FreeBSD driver and remain in 'open'
state, so some electrical interferences come into these circuits.

The only way to be sure that after FreeBSD boot the sound works is booting to
windows and then reboot to FreeBSD.

I hope that someone could work on this problem.
