Over the weekend, I finally found the time to properly test all the
suggestions.

The virtual_oss mapping provided by Florian works for my soundbar.
virtual_oss_ctl is indeed very useful to see how things are mapped.

I believe this PR can probably be closed since everything seems to be working
as intended. Once again, thank you for all the valuable information and
assistance.
