Yup, some time ago I bought MacStudio, just for compilation, cheapest
version with 12 core M2Max CPU and 32GB RAM, and it blows socks off,
its 2..4 faster than my PC workstation.. but I am aware that it will
be trashed in ~5 years due to missing system updates like it happened
with my previous Apple hardware that now I try to avoid :-)

I am considering upgrade of my PC soon where I run bare metal FreeBSD
to AMD RYZEN 9 9950X.. it seems parameters are comparable to M4 Max
16-core and a ~50% better than M2 Max 12-core, but for 2..5x smaller
price and I can give even more RAM (i.e. 196GB) to speed up build in
ramdisk :-)
